Brendan Gleeson plays Alistor Mad-Eye Moody in The Goblet of Fire, the Order of the Phoenix and the Deathly Hallows: Part 1.
He was born on March 29, 1955 in Dublin. From a young age he started performing and after his education he was invited to audition for the Royal Shakespear Company in Stratford upon Avon. He then spend some years on the stage before he decided to audition (at the age of 35) for movies in the UK.
Before Harry Potter he played some impressive roles in Braveheart, Troy, Cold Mountain, 28 Days Later, Mission Impossible II, Gangs of New York, AI, and The General for which he won the Boston Society of Film Critics Award.
His son Domhnall played Bill Weasley in both Deathly Hallows movies.
